All About Your District Lead Individual Account

With your new District Lead account, you have access to new, exciting features and greater administrative control over the schools in your district. This article will go over account creation, new features and how to onboard additional members.

Creating Your District Lead Account

You should have received an email from support@characterstrong.com that includes an invitation link to create your account! Once you click the link, you will be prompted to create your individual account. Here is a video tutorial!

  • Please note: this invitation link should be used ONLY by you as it is personalized to your email

What's New?

The biggest difference you will see in your new District Lead account is the "School Management" tab on the left-hand side. Below is a high level summation of what each of these tabs are for!

  • Schools: this tab shows you all the schools in your district! Please note: some schools that are visible may not have a CharacterStrong purchase, only invite School Leads to schools that have purchased curriculum!
  • Members: this tab is where you can see and manage all members that are under the district organization! To view members at a specific school, you will need to utilize the Schools tab shown above, and click into the school you are wishing to view.

Adding a member under the Members tab will put them under the district and not their assigned school!

  • Activity: this tab allows you to view your district's data usage activity! You can view activity as a whole district as well as use the filters at the top of this page to look at specific schools.
  • Billing: this tab shows you all invoices associated with your district

If a school purchased separately from the district, their invoices may show up under their school rather than under your district account. For any billing questions, please reach out to billing@characterstrong.com!

  • Security: this tab allows you to manage your district's authentication methods and enhance security measures. If you have a designated IT staff member, you can invite them under the Members tab as a Security Manager!

Inviting Your Staff

If you are opting to use an SSO/SAML configuration to invite your staff, you can provide your IT staff member with this SSO guide that outlines the setup process! Otherwise, the first step is getting your School Leads invited! School Leads will have similar administrative control as a District Lead but only for their designated school. Once a School Lead has created their account, they can get the rest of their staff onboarded! Here is a tutorial that shows the below steps.

  1. Navigate to the "Schools" tab
  2. Click into a school
  3. Click the green "+ Add Members" button -> input emails option
  4. Copy and paste the email of the School Lead
  5. Change the "invite as" drop down to the School Lead role
  6. Send invite!

You may notice when you click the "+ Add Members" button there are multiple options. Please click here to view an in depth explanation of these options!

Invitation tips and tricks!

  • Pending/needs approval invites: when viewing the members for a school or your district, there is an "Active Members" page and an "Invitations" page that you can toggle between. On the invitations page you can see all pending and needs approval invites. A pending invite means the educator has received their email invitation but has not yet created their account. A needs approval invite will show an approve/decline option.
    • Please note: staff members who are awaiting approval will only see samples until their request is accepted by a lead.
  • Need to move a member? Under the "Active Members" page you can navigate to the educator you are wanting to move, open the drop down menu under the School column, and click the correct school! Here is a video tutorial!
    • Please note: once a staff member is moved, they will disappear from the current school's member list you are viewing but will be visible under their new school!
  • Does a staff member needs access to more than one building? If you do NOT have our Tier 3 Solution you can move that staff member under the district. If needing administrative capabilities they can have the District Lead role, otherwise they can have the Educator role under the district to allow them to view the curriculum for all their buildings.
